Methodology

A phase runs from one regime change to the next. For each phase the QQQ move is measured. A "hit" is: an offensive regime (Bull/Recovery) with a positive QQQ move, or a defensive regime (Bear/Crash) with a negative QQQ move. The hit rate is the share of hits among all clearly classifiable phases.
